Police Arrests Fake recruitment officer in Bauchi

Bauchi State Police Command has succeeded in arresting a fake army officer that engages in recruitment of army personnel after duping them large amounts of money.

According to a statement issued yesterday by the Public Relations Officer of the state police command, DSP Haruna Muhammad, the suspect identified as Faisal Ibrahim impersonated as Army officer that engaged in the recruitment of fake army personnel at Kafin Madaki ward of Bauchi state.  

DSP Haruna stated that the suspect was arrested last Saturday for allegedly claiming to be an Army officer and obtaining under false pretense the sum of N140, 000 to offer employment into the Nigerian Army.

"One Faisal Ibrahim, a male of Kafin Madaki Ward, Bauchi who impersonated as Army officer was arrested for duping one Ibrahim Muhammad, a 20 years old of Gombe state indigene of the sum of N140,000 to enlist him into the Nigerian Army. The suspect was arrested in the process of collecting more money from the complainant and is assisting the police with useful information that could lead to the arrest of his accomplice", he added.

Police spokesman therefore urged members of the public to always be vigilant not to fall victims of such avoidable blackmail and should follow the statutory procedure in seeking for recruitment of their children into various institutions, saying that police are doing everything possible to eliminate bad eggs among the societies.
