LAGOS 2015: Group backs ex- Accountant-General, Ambode’s governorship ambition
A political group called Lagos deserves more has
thrown its support behind a former accountant-general
of the state, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, to emerge as
Governor of the state in 2015.
According to the group, Ambode is the perfect candidate to succeed Governor Babatunde Fashola as he would be able to consolidate on his achievements. Ambode who was a one time Accountant-General of Lagos and voluntarily retired from the state's civil service on Dec. 2, 2012. The position of the group was contained in a statement signed by its Secretary- General, Mr Olabanji Abuloye. It said while Ambode was Accountant-General he was able to successfully increase the state`s internally generated revenue, effectively managed the state`s debt profile and re-engineered the state's financial system, while also recording an impressive performance in other areas.
Ambode has since picked up a nomination form of the
All Progressives Congress, APC, for the 2015
governorship election.
