LASU Lecturers Threatens Strike, Enough is Enough!
One would have said, The Lagos State University (LASU), has a reputation for indefinite strikes; if judging by frequent strikes that evolves there on, The Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU), Lagos State University
(LASU), Ojo chapter, on September 10! 2014 said we might consider Strike if management LASU continues to withhold Salaries of its members.
Mr Saheed Oseni, the Chairman of the
union, spoke to the press in Lagos that his members were
Shocked negatively by the management's step to
Holdback their June and July 2014 salaries.
Reports holds that the LASU fraction of SSANU had, on May
26, embarked on a strike to make known their
demands and suspended it to make peace reign.
It is however established. That The university authorities,,
withheld the June and July salaries of the
union members in line with the State
Government's "no work, no pay'' policy.
Mr Oseni also said union had written
severally to Gov. Fashola,
and had several meetings with appropriate Authority on the matter to no avail .
In Response, Mr Kayode Sutton, the Public
Relations Officer of LASU, implored the union
to maintain peace as the authorities were
aware of their demands and settle the matter, thus doing what ought to be done.. (NAN)
