I really hate getting nominated for @bet awards. They're so bogus,'' Banks tweeted on May 18
Even though being nominated in the Best Female Hip Hop Artist category alongside Nicki Minaj, Azealia Banks didn't hesitate to reign criticisms on the forthcoming BET Awards on Twitter.
The 23-year-old took to Twitter on Monday, May 18 to question the nominees for the awards.
"@bet has thrown me such much shade over the years. Keep
misspelling my name..." Banks began. "I really hate getting nominated
for @bet awards. They're so bogus."
Azealia goes head-to-head with Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, Dej Loaf, Tink, and Trina and was heralded by the network as "one of rap's most unfiltered MCs.'
"The female rap award at the bet awards goes to nicki every
year, it's not even a real award anymore lol it's a bit of a running
joke," she continued, naming Minaj, with whom she has often butted
heads. "They should just nominate nicki five times with five different
wigs on and pick the best picture lol."
Minaj, 32, has indeed controlled the BET Awards in recent years, taking home the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist honor in 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, and 2010.

Banks went on to attack Minaj's fans, tweeting, "*hears
barbz buzzing in the distance* *rolls up car windows* *sound of little
barb heads slamming into glass* *unconscious barbs on floor*... *turns
up random nicki Minaj verse* *puts car in reverse* *backs up over barbs*
*blood splatters* *puts car in drive and takes off*"
