New York Rapper Chinx Shot Dead In Drive-By

A New York City rapper has been killed as he sat in a Porsche in an early morning drive-by shooting.

Lionel Pickens, who performed as Chinx, was shot multiple times in the chest. The 31-year-old, who was part of French Montana's Coke Boys group, died in hospital. The attack unfolded at 4am in. the Jamaica neighbourhood of the city's Queens borough. At least seven bullet holes pierced the car.



Police said Pickens and another man were in the car when a vehicle pulled up alongside and an attacker opened fire.
At least seven bullet holes pierced the front and rear driver-side windows of the silver Porsche Panamera 4. The 27-year-old passenger in the car with Pickens is in a critical condition in hospital with gunshot wounds.

Chinx's management team issued a statement on Instagram saying his "dedication, humor and vision will always be remembered". The rapper made his name through the Coke Boys and Cocaine Riot mixtape series. In 2009, he released his first solo album, Hurry Up & Die Vol 1: Get Ya Casket On. No arrests have yet been made.
