Jonathan and Familiy Bid Farewell To Aso Villa Chapel
President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday bid goodbye
to worshippers in the Aso Rock Villa Chapel, praying
that the incoming administration would continue
from where he stopped.
It was a thanksgiving service that had all the
trappings of a celebration in honour of President
Goodluck Jonathan, for the ability to appear before
the Lord in the chapel for six years.
It was also to serve as a hand over service to the
incoming Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who
was not present at the service.
In what looked like testimonies, the President and his
wife, Patience called on their members to forgive
them of any imperfection, saying they are going
home with their heads held high.
Mrs Patience Jonathan, who confessed that she never
dreamt of becoming a first lady, recalled the number
of times she was wheeled into theJonathan theatre
for operations.
She was grateful to God that she had been
completely and miraculously healed from the ailment
that made her undergo surgical operations four
times in a German hospital.
There were pronouncements by the men of God who
seemed to say that the President has planted a seed
by giving peace to Nigeria and he now makes way for
the next administration to water.
The Chaplain, Venerable Obioma Onwuzurumba, said
that he would miss the friendly nature of the first
family and he was sure that this would be the same
feeling for other members whose lives, the first
family has impacted in one way or the other.
In all, the clergies recognized that it is God that gives
the increase and that he would give Nigeria the
increase.
Laden with the best of songs, some of them the
President's favourite, prayers were also offered with
thanksgiving as the first family and their friends
danced to the alters with their substance.
Gifts were also presented to the President, the First
Lady, the couple and the mother of the President.
