Activist Blasts Fayose Over 'Diaper Comment'

The political clash ahead of the presidential
elections is getting even more personal after the
recent comment dropped by Ekiti state governor
Ayodele Fayose.
Governor Ayodele Fayose
The saga saw its continuation yesterday when Fayose,
again referring to the age of Gen. Muhammadu
Buhari (retd.), the All Progressives Congress
candidate, said that many people in their 70s wear
diapers.
Kayode Ogundamisi, a respected pro-democracy
leader and a civil rights activist, used social media to
describe his outrage over such remarks and even
provided the photo of the governor's elderly mother
who according to him does not look like a person
described by Fayose.

See the response statement:
"My over 70 Years old Mum Wears Diapers – @
GovAyoFayose to PDP Governors Forum.
"Today Ayo Fayose took his madness a bit further by
using his mother as an example of why Nigerians
should not vote for an elderly person as candidate.
Fayose's claim that his mother wears pampers is a
new low just to make a political point.
"In 1983 Chief Obafemi Awolowo contested for
Presidency at age 74 and Nnamdi Azikwe at age 79
Can bigot Ayo Fayose tell us if they both wore dipers?
Fayose's fear of Buhari is more to do with Fayose
facing justice for corruption than Buhari's age."
Soon the activist published the alleged picture of
Fayose's mother. See the tweet below:

Photo of @GovAyoFayose 's mother. Does she
look like same woman described by Governor
Fayose as wearing "diapers"?

It should be noted that the attacks of the Ekiti
governor directed at Buhari are often linked with the
candidate's age. Before the yesterday's incident the
politician had mentioned during one of the occasions
:
"The new deceit from the APC is to use a
photoshoped picture of Buhari for posters in Lagos,
making him look like a 50 year old man, whereas he
is as old as my mother and cannot survive the
rigours of office even as a governor not to talk of
President of Nigeria."
