Bold move. Madonna’s been busy on Instagram promoting her upcoming 13th studio album Rebel Hearts by Photoshopping her cover art look onto famous heads like Marilyn Monroe and Homer Simpson. The iconic singer, however, upset fans when she took it a step further and began altering the famous faces of world leaders like civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. and former President of South AfricaNelson Mandela.
“This #rebelheart had a dream!” the “Like a Virgin” songstress captioned a Photoshopped image of MLK Jr. on Friday, Jan. 2, replicating her album cover, which features her face tied with black rope. “This #rebelheart fought for freedom!” she wrote alongside Mandela’s image.
Commenters fired back at Madge, writing, “This is pure stupidity,” and “Grow up Madonna,” while others blatantly questioned the singer with: “Bitch what the f—k?”

Before posting the images, Madonna seemingly warned her haters: ”Dear haters, I have so much more for you to be mad at…be patient!”
"The reason I wanted to call the record Rebel Heart was because I felt like it explored two very distinct sides of my personality," she told Billboard of the album, which will be released in full on March 10. "The rebellious, renegade side of me, and the romantic side of me. In my mind, it was almost like I wanted to do a two-record set."
