UNILORIN admits only 12,650 out of 114,700 applicants for 2014/15 academic session
Ambali, who disclosed this in Ilorin at the university's matriculation ceremony for fresh students, said the institution was witnessing an influx of applicants having been rated the best in the country and 20th in Africa.
The vice chancellor disclosed that only 41, 470 applicants scored 180 marks, saying this was the minimum requirement that qualified them for the post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination screening.
He added that those that passed the post-UTME screening and qualified were only 22, 601.
"The total number of admitted international students were 80 and the total number of admitted students were 12, 650," he added.
Ambali charged the new students to "arise and fly,'' obey the rules of the university and shun cultism, warning that it could lead to expulsion.
