Very Sad! Three teenagers are struck to death by thunder in Ogun

It was a sad day for residents of Ijale Ijaka Street in Ijoun, Ayetoro area in Yewa South local government area of Ogun state on Sunday when thunder struck three teenagers to death. The thunder which struck during a heavy rainfall reportedly killed the three teenage kids, Sunday Mulero,13, Dare Olaifa,15 and Sodiq Segun, 15.

The police spokesman in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement confirmed the tragic incident. According to the statement, the kids were playing outside their house when the thunder struck and killed them instantly. He said police officers rushed down to the scene to try to rescue the teenagers but they were confirmed dead immediately they arrived at the hospital.

"The Commissioner of Police Ogun State CP Ikemefuna Okoye has described the incident as unfortunate. He then sympathized with the families of the deceased and prayed for God's mercies and protection over other members of the affected families," the statement said.

The police commissioner while assuring residents of his commands readiness to use all available resources to ensure residents of the state are adequately protected advised parents to warn their kids to desist from playing under heavy rainfall or engaging themselves in any dangerous activities that could harm them.
