Kwankwaso plans to declare for Presidency on October 23

A "compromise deal" between Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and former military Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries may have yielded very little result and Kwankwaso has now concluded plans to formally declare his presidential ambition on Thursday, October 23.
Buhari, Kwankwaso and Atiku are in a three-horse race to provide the APC with a single northern Presidential flag-bearer, but none of the trio is ready to suspend their ambitions for the other, our sources within the APC have revealed.

Senator Saraki suspended his Presidential run yesterday.
Kwankwaso's trump card has been that he's a younger candidate than Buhari and he shouldn't be abandoning his Presidential run if a generational shift is what the country needs.

Speaking to THISDAY yesterday on Kwakwanso's plans for the presidential race, a chieftain of APC and one of Kwankwaso's campaign coordinators, Chief Olisaemeka Akamukali, said barring any unforeseen circumstances, the governor would be unveiling his presidential campaign on Thursday next week.
"Governor Kwakwanso has finished his nationwide consultations and is now ready to declare his ambition to contest for the presidency of this country on the platform of APC on October 23. His entry into the race will most likely alter the political permutations," Akamukali said.
He also alluded to a generational shift as Kwankwaso's reason for staying in the race.

"Inasmuch as we agree that Buhari is a man of integrity, but you will also agree with me that age is not on his side. He is 73 going on 74 years and ex-Vice-President Atiku Abubakar is about 70 years old. But Kwakwanso will be 58 on October 21, so he has age on his side," Akamukali said.
